A Dialogue Between the Japanese Concept of “Ma” and Modern Materiality
In this apartment renovation, we sought a space where modern functional beauty resonates with the quiet, soulful atmosphere of Japanese tradition.
The layout intentionally “shifts” the alignment of the living and dining areas, creating intuitive boundaries within a seamless, open environment. This subtle zoning achieves a perfect balance: an expansive sense of transparency combined with the intimate comfort required for each specific area.
In the living space, the sculptural Braid Sofa is paired with the Zabu Chair, which offers a refined take on low-seated relaxation. Together, they create a lounge-like atmosphere that allows residents to find their own place of repose. The dining area is centered around the Lattice Round Table, its circular form naturally drawing people together to foster shared moments and rich conversation.
The dressing room features the Saga Stool and Split Mirror, transforming the morning rush into a graceful ritual and a private sanctuary. The tactile integrity of ARIAKE’s craftsmanship adds a timeless depth to the everyday landscape of the home.
現代の住まいに息づく、日本古来の「間」と素材の対話
マンションのリノベーションにおいて追求したのは、現代的な機能美と、日本らしい静かな情緒が共鳴する空間です。
リビングとダイニングをあえて「ずらす」ように配置したレイアウトは、遮るもののない開放感の中に、用途に応じた心地よい境界線を生み出しました。視線が抜ける広がりと、それぞれの場に留まる落ち着きを両立させています。
リビングには、彫刻的な美しさを持つブレイド ソファと、床に近い寛ぎを提案するザブ チェアを配し、ラウンジのように住まい手が自由に居場所を見つけられる空間に。また、ダイニングの主役であるラティス ラウンドテーブルは、円を描くように人々が集い、食卓を囲む豊かな時間を演出します。
さらにドレッサールームには、サガスツールとスプリットミラーを設え、慌ただしい朝の時間さえも優雅な儀式へと変える、私的な聖域を創り上げました。ARIAKEのプロダクトが持つ確かな素材感が、日常の風景に奥行きを与えます。
